Package includes: Return International economy flights, bed and breakfast accommodation on a twin share basis, English-speaking guide service throughout the whole tour, excursions (including entrance fees) to all places as highlighted in the itinerary below and all internal transportation in China.

Day 1 - After arriving in Beijing from your International flight you will be met by our English speaking guide and transferred by coach to your chosen hotel where you will spend 2 nights.

Day 2 - Beijing - Take a morning walk at Tian'anmen Square, the largest one in the world! On the 1st October 1949, Chairman Mao Tse-Tung proclaimed to the whole world the founding of the People’s Republic of China there. Then visit Forbidden City which was the Imperial Palace for the Ming and the Qing Dynasty comprising 800 buildings and over 9,000 rooms. In the afternoon enjoy a visit to The Summer Palace to see the second home of the Imperial Court, with its huge collection of over 1,000 paintings, and its charming gardens with marble pagodas and delicately arched bridges.

Day 3 - Beijing to Xi'an - Take a full day excursion to the Juyongguan Section of The Great Wall of China and The Temple of Heaven. The Great Wall is China’s most famous landmark. Built during the Qin Dynasty to protect the country from invaders with a total length of over 6,000 miles! Visit the Temple of Heaven, which is said to be the most beautiful building in Beijing. Visit a local craft factory. After dinner your overnight first-class train leaves for Xi'an.

Day 4 - Xi'an - In the morning you arrive in Xi'an - the home of the famous Terracotta Warriors. Transfer to your hotel for breakfast and to relax. Visit "Big Wild Goose Pagoda", a Buddhist temple which is considered to be symbolic of the architecture of Xi'an and The Bell Tower & Drum Tower Square.

Day 5 - Xi'an, Shanghai, Suzhou - Visit the Terracotta Army Museum where 6,000 life-sized terracotta soldiers and horses guard the tomb of China’s first emperor - Qinshihuang. It was uncovered by some peasants digging a well in 1974 and turned out to be the most important discovery of the 20th century and Banpo Museum, which houses the remains of a matriarchy clan from the Neolithic age. Visit a local craft factory. Fly to Shanghai, transfer to Suzhou, the hometown of silk

Day 6 - Suzhou to Shanghai - Visit Wangshi Garden, an example of the masterpieces of Chinese garden art, Silk Mill, where you can watch silkworms and the production process of silk. Take a cruise on Grand Canal, which is the longest man-made canal in the world and Embroidery Institute and then drive to Shanghai

Day 7 - Shanghai - Visit Yuyuan Garden, an elegant classical garden set amongst Shanghai's busiest bazaar, and Jade Buhda Temple, which is famous for the Jade Buddha carved from one piece of white Burma jade. Spend some time in Bund, Nanjing Road, which is the paradise of shopping.

Day 8 - Today you will be transferred from your hotel to Shanghai's International Airport for your return flight back to the UK. The arrival date back into the UK will depend upon the flight departure time from China.
