Day 1 - Depart UK for an overnight flight to Beijing.
Day 2 - Arrive in Beijing where you will be met by our English speaking guide and transferred to the hotel of your choice and the start of your 2 nights stay.
Day 3 - Beijing - Take a morning trip to Tian'anman Square, the largest in the world, where on 1st October 1949, Chairman Mao Tse Tung proclaimed to the whole world the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Followed by a visit to the Forbidden City, which was the Imperial Palace for the Ming and the Qing Dynasty with 800 buildings and over 9,000 rooms, and The Temple of Heaven said to be the most beautiful building in the world.
Day 4 - Beijing - Today embark on a full day excursion to The Great Wall of China and the Summer Palace. The Great Wall is China’s most famous landmark; built during the Qin Dynasty to protect the country from invaders with a total length of over 6,000 miles! Pay a visit to the Summer Palace to see the second home of the Imperial Court, with its huge collection of over 1,000 paintings, and its charming gardens with marble pagodas and delicately arched bridges.
Day 5 - Beijing to Xi'an - Fly to Xian, an ancient capital for 11 dynasties. Visit "Big Wild Goose Pagoda", and the City Wall before being transferred to your chosen hotel for a 2 night stay.
Day 6 - Xi'an - Visit The Terracotta Warriors where 6,000 life-sized soldiers and horses guarded the tomb of China’s first emperor - Qinshihuang. Visit the Banpo Museum, enjoy the fantastic Tang Dynasty Show.
Day 7 - Xi'an to Nanjing - Fly to Nanjing, capital city of China before 1949. Nanjing was one of 6 ancient capitals in Chinese history. Spend 2 nights at your chosen hotel.
Day 8 - Nanjing - Visit majestic Dr. Sun’s Mausoleum, Yangtse River Bridge, Qinhuai River, and the Ancient City Wall before returning back to the hotel.
Day 9 - Nanjing to Suzhou - take a morning drive to Suzhou. Suzhou is known for the most beautiful gardens in China and was called the “Venice of the Orient” by Marco Polo. Visit the beautiful gardens and a silk factory where you will observe the process from cocoon to silk. Spend 2 nights at your chosen hotel.
Day 10 - Suzhou - Today visit Tiger Hill, Grand Canal and the Embroidery Institute.
Day 11 - Suzhou to Zhou Village, Hangzhou - Drive to Zhou Village, an ancient village built by the Grand Canal, enjoy a boat ride and then continue driving on towards Hangzhou. Overnight at your 4 star hotel
Day 12 - Hangzhou - Visit West lake, Tea farm, Lingyin Temple, and The Six Harmony Pagoda. Take an evening drive to Shanghai and the start of your 3 nights stay at your chosen hotel.
Day 13 - Shanghai - Visit Jade Buhda Temple, and Yuyuan Garden, an elegant classical garden to be found within Shanghai's busiest bazaar, also The Children’s Palace, Bund. Enjoy a thrilling Acrobatic Show in the evening.
Day 14 - Shanghai - A "free day". Your hotel will be centrally located, making it easy for you to explore Shanghai on your own.
Day 15 - Today you will be transferred from the hotel to Shanghai International Airport for your return flight back to the UK. The arrival date back in the UK will depend upon the flight departure time from China.
